Men and women are equal and should be treated as such. However, the gender gap in STEM fields has been a persistent issue for years. In this article, we will explore how men can better support women in their careers by taking an active role in mentorship programs.
The let a man be a man meaning is the idea that men should act like men. This phrase has been used in many different contexts, including sports and politics.
Following the 2020 season, the Philadelphia Eagles parted ways with veteran quarterback Carson Wentz and head coach Pederson, Doug, only three years after winning the Super Bowl.
A promising collaboration that started in 2016 ended in poor performances, a lasting conflict, and an ugly divorce. The split, though, seems to have been the best thing for Pederson and Wentz’s relationship.
Doug Pederson and Carson Wentz both said that they had put the past behind them.
The Philadelphia Eagles were dismantled in a matter of minutes. In January, the club dismissed Peterson and put Wentz, the second overall selection in 2017, available for trade. After handing over the starting quarterback job to Jalen Hurts, the Eagles traded Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts for two draft picks, including a conditional selection that could become a first-round pick in 2022. Wentz previously worked with Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich in Philadelphia.
Pederson recently returned to the Indianapolis Colts’ training camp and reconnected with old teammates. A photo of Pederson, Reich, and Wentz — who is recuperating from foot surgery — standing together during practice went viral on social media.
In an interview with NBC Sports’ Peter King, the former Eagles head coach said he and Wentz had a “really good” discussion. Pederson, who is not coaching this season, said he intended to go to Colts camp mainly to see Reich, but the opportunity to embrace Wentz and wish him well was too good to pass up.
“It was organic; it was genuine. I recognized him and embraced him. Carson and I have always had a good connection, and I hold him in high respect, so I didn’t want what occurred at the end to taint that. “Let’s be men about it. He went on, I moved on.”
Wentz, according to Pederson, also wanted to make nice with him.
Pederson seems to be a guy ready for a new head coaching job.

Peterson raised the Lombardi Trophy over his head at the conclusion of his second season as an NFL head coach. He found himself jobless less than three years later.
Pederson reflected on where things went wrong and what he has learnt during his NFL career during his interview with King.
“As coaches, we are harsh with our players. We expect the best from our athletes. When I was a player, I was heavily coached, and I didn’t always like it. I used to dislike my coaches, but now I appreciate them for helping me develop into the athlete and guy I am. It’s a fact of life. Everything isn’t always going to plan, and you have to adjust and go on.”
Those are the exact things that clubs should want to hear from Pederson, and it seems that he means them. He could have simply gone to Colts camp, posed for a picture with Wentz, and then departed without having a meaningful discussion with the 2017 Pro Bowler. Instead, he made it clear that he wanted to talk with his former quarterback and see where things went from there.
We may never know how much of the rumored internal strife in the Eagles’ organization while Pederson and Wentz were teammates was genuine. We do know, at the very least, that the former head coach obviously grew as a coach and as a person during his time there, and that he tried to put things right where he could.
Will Peterson return as the Vikings’ head coach next season?

Although Pederson is not playing in the NFL this season, it is not due to a lack of interest. He informed King that he received at least two offers to be an offensive coordinator for the next season, but he wouldn’t say which clubs had approached him. The Colts, who lost offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni to the Eagles’ head coaching position, have to be one of those clubs.
It’ll be fascinating to watch whether Pederson’s year off and interviews like the one he conducted with King improve his standing ahead of the coaching carousel in 2021-22. He’s a seasoned head coach who led the Eagles to the playoffs in three of his five seasons with the team, despite a plague of offensive injuries.
In addition, Pederson owns a Super Bowl ring and is a part of Andy Reid’s coaching tree. It doesn’t seem unreasonable that a club looking for an offensive mind, such as the Arizona Cardinals if Kliff Kingsbury is fired, would consider Pederson.
However, following an acrimonious divorce, he and Wentz have put the past behind them for the time being. It may not have the same ecstatic sensation as beating Tom Brady in a Super Bowl, but it’s certainly enough to make Pederson grin.
