The Brooklyn Nets may have no option but to move Kyrie Irving now that he has openly said that he has no intention of getting vaccinated and complying with the state of New York’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement.
The Nets have done all they can to appease Irving while adhering to league regulations in their drive to win their first NBA championship.
Unfortunately, the NBA season 2021-22 is already underway, and Brooklyn must do what is best for the franchise. Fortunately for them, not every state has imposed a vaccine requirement, so there will undoubtedly be some teams interested in dealing for Irving.
Let’s take a look at the three best trade destinations for Irving as the Nets strive feverishly to get beyond all of this.

3. The 76ers of Philadelphia
The Nets would be smart to seek this trade since they’d be exchanging two talents who aren’t getting much playing time on their current teams. Ben Simmons would get a new start with the Nets, and his offensive inadequacies would be much less of a concern given the team’s existing firepower.
Simmons’ height and length would also offer the Nets with a much-needed perimeter defender who could relieve James Harden of some of the ball-handling and playmaking responsibilities. On the other hand, Irving would provide a significant boost at point guard while creating a dangerous 1-2 punch with Joel Embiid for the Sixers.
The Sixers’ prospects of winning the NBA title this year would greatly increase as a result of this decision. They’d have a more fluid attack with more ball movement and scoring. Although Irving has been a defensive liability at times, the 76ers have a wealth of defensive studs on their roster to compensate for this. With Embiid, Tobias Harris, and Matisse Thybulle spearheading their top-notch defensive unit, this is particularly true.
The Sixers would become the NBA’s most explosive two-way club if Irving were to join them.

On the offensive end, just the thought of Doncic and Irving playing off one other is a nightmare situation for opposition teams to strategize for.
This would be a perfect trade for the Mavs to consider as they attempt to construct a championship squad and provide Luka with the support he requires–especially if they want to go beyond the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2011. This is a move that would enhance Dallas’ position and maybe make them a top-four club in the Western Conference if they want to ascend the ranks of the ultra-competitive Western Conference.
1. The Clippers of Los Angeles

This would be a great acquisition for the Clippers, and it would also bring Irving back together with former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue, with whom he won the NBA title in 2016. With Kawhi Leonard projected to miss a significant portion of the season, bringing in an All-Star player like Kyrie Irving to play with Paul George would keep the Clippers in the Western Conference’s elite tier.
This would also be a nice perk for the Clippers as Leonard recovers from his injury. If the Lakers are successful in acquiring Irving, they will become the NBA’s new team to beat. The Clippers would be unbeatable in the NBA with a superstar triumvirate of Leonard, George, and Irving.
These three All-Stars’ scoring, playmaking, and ball handling skills would help them become a more cohesive team. Irving would come back in the correct mentality under Ty Lue’s guidance, and he’d provide a significant boost to the Clippers’ backcourt. There’s no disputing that remaining in Brooklyn is Kyrie’s best bet for another NBA championship, but a transfer to the Clippers would allow him to pursue a couple more rings as well.
